EASTERN BROWN

{tag_name_nolink}

The 2nd most venomous snake found anywhere on this planet is the "Common" or Eastern Brown Snake. It is very common and does reside on the Eastern side of Australia, however it is not always brown. The colours can be highly variable and stripes are not uncommon, especially in juveniles. They posses relatively short fangs 2-3mm in length and release very little venom as their venom yield is not a great amount. Eastern Browns inflict a relatively painless bite due to such short fangs. It has been described by many as like coming into contact with a thistle.
