Regarded as the most venomous land snake in the world, it has the potential to kill up to 100 adults with just a minute amount of its venom. It is often referred to as "The Fierce Snake" but certainly does not deserve this name as it has a very timid and shy nature as most snakes do. This species inhabits the harsh arid interior of Australia around the area where the central borders meet. Over the past 30 years since its classification, less than 20 bites have been recorded by this snake and all victims survived due to correct first aid treatment that was applied immediately and correctly (pressure & immobilisation).
